Lonesome Ranch

Lonesome Ranch is named after "Lonesome Al the Housewives' Pal," a cowboy who was a frequent visitor to the forest and a resident of Laguna. His cabin still stands on the property and contains historical artifacts spanning from the 1870s to the 1980s.

Lonesome Ranch offers a variety of amenities, including a lake, four fully renovated and modernized cabins, a utility vehicle (gator turf), snowmobiles, a 1963 Chevrolet truck, and numerous historical artifacts spread throughout the property. These amenities provide both comfort and a rich historical experience for guests and will all be included with its sale.

The reservoir was essential in combating the 60,000-acre fire that threatened the area in late July/early August 2024. Located just 5 miles from the ranch, the fire's eastern edge was particularly challenging to control. The reservoir has supplied over 300,000 gallons of water, supporting around 200 water dips per day. Fire crews also set up camp on the property, using it as a base of operations. These efforts helped contain the fire and will provide peace of mind to the future property owner regarding fire risks in the surrounding area.

Lonesome Ranch features a total of nine cabins. There are four fully restored cabins with modern amenities, including running water, restrooms, and luxury accommodations. Additionally, there are five historical cabins that have been preserved in their original state from the 1870s. These historical cabins contain artifacts from the era when they served as trading posts for Native Americans and later as carriage stops and mine sites for local travelers.

The mineral rights to the mines belong to the property owner, offering a unique opportunity for adventurers interested in the rich history of the area. There are a total of six known gold mines on the property. Three of these mines are open, while eight have been caved in.
